Yardistry Gazebo Guttering – why is it so important?

As a result of customer demand, Yardistry Gazebo guttering was developed for large roof structures in 2023. The effective guttering and down pipe design means it successfully works to divert water cleanly away from your outdoor space. Simply put, larger roof areas displace more water. So this is why Yardistry suggest all structures over 12ft x 12ft use guttering.

The system includes a downspout elbow fitting at the bottom of the corner section, designed to direct rainwater vertically away from the structure.Context and SettingThe overall structure suggests a pergola, pavilion, or gazebo designed to shelter an outdoor space. The structural supports below the gutter are visible, appearing to be light-colored wood or timber posts. The background is softly focused, showing a lush, green lawn, a wooden fence, and the foliage of trees—suggesting the structure is located in a garden or backyard setting. Do all structures come with Yardistry Gazebo Guttering?

You will note that pavilion structures do not come with guttering. Pavilion designs feature a pitched roof, which has less surface area panelling for water run off. The pitched roof design has two panels – one either side. Gazebo designs have 4 roof panels. This means that there is much more surface area for water run off. A larger surface area of roof can distribute so much water, especially in the wet UK weather. That could cause water build up, debris or watermarking on your patio, deck or terrace. The pergolas do not have guttering as they are partially open above. Louvered roof rooms have their own guttering system incorporated into the roof design.

The lower piece of downspout acts as a discharge outlet, extending away from the post to allow water to drain onto the surrounding ground surface.Function and ContextThis detail shows how the water management system (downspout) is integrated with the main vertical support (post) of an outdoor structure, such as a gazebo, pergola, or deck awning. The design ensures proper drainage away from the wooden foundation and structure's base.
