Gazebos & Pergolas – What’s the Difference?

Add some charm and functionality to your garden, with an outdoor structure.  A gazebo or pergola creates a focal point.  A hub for entertaining and socialising.  Also a centre piece that creates an outdoor living area for you, your family and friends to enjoy. 

Gazebos

These are freestanding structures with a solid roof.  Posts that are hollow, so ideal for running cables through.  Gazebo options include open sides or walled using Yardistry Direct privacy walls. Pergolas

Pergolas are freestanding structures with a roof which is often a slatted design. Some have louvered roof slats which can be open or closed and are controlled by a hand crank.  Therefore offering options for sun or shade.  They have open sides and are often used to create a shaded seating area or walkway. Plants or climbers can frame the beams and posts, creating a floral sweet smelling area.  Therefore Pergolas are a great way to add some architectural interest to your garden whilst also providing a comfortable place to relax or entertain.  Furniture can be used to add seating or a place to stop and pause.
